Stacy + AJ | Sioux Falls Wedding Photographer

Most often when I book a wedding I have sat down with the bride or the couple over coffee and gone over details and just spend that time getting to know each other. With Stacy and AJ things were different because they live in California! We communicated via email and they decided I was the photographer for them and had booked with me without meeting me in person. We were thinking that we wouldn't meet until the wedding day (or possibly sneak an engagement session in a few days before the wedding) but they had decided last minute to surprise family by coming home for a few days over Christmas. We took that opportunity to fit in an engagement session and we were finally able to meet! It is apparent that these two are just completely in love. I was so happy to be able to do a winter engagement session for them and it left me even more excited for the big day. Their wedding was at Lake Shetek in MN and reception to follow was in Worthington. My second photographer for the day and I hit the road ready to kick off the 2014 wedding season! Stacy and AJ had poured so much of their heart and soul into this day which made it all the more special. The ceremony took place in a chapel at Lake Shetek State Park which is where the couple had met at a bible camp years ago. From hearing their love story to them writing their own vows the ceremony was filled with love and emotion and I don't think there was a dry eye in the house (including mine). It was truly amazing to see and feel the love that Stacy and AJ have for each other and it was an honor to be there and capture their day for them.

The reception was in an old barn and decorated with string lights and wine bottles and corks. The couple enjoys making their own wine and beer so all the alcoholic beverages were some that they had made.

You can see how passionate they are about their relationships with family and friends and they were surrounded by people who truly love and care for them. What an incredible day!
